Director | Andrew Jansen
Andrew is the Middle School Pastor at University Christian Church located in Manhattan, KS. He has over a decade of vocational youth ministry experience. He served on the Oasis Board as a member since 2022 and transitioned into the director role in 2024. Andrew attended Oasis as a youth student, as a college volunteer, and as a youth pastor bringing students. It has been a dream of his to work behind the scenes with the Oasis Conference since volunteering as a student at Manhattan Christian College.

Assistant Director | Kaleb Hansen
Kaleb is the Youth Pastor at First Christian Church of Junction City. He has grown up attending The Oasis Student Conference. He is a recent alum of Manhattan Christian College with a degree in Youth Ministry. He has a great passion for serving the youth and strives to help them develop a deep rooted relationship with Jesus. Ask him about any Gen Z or Gen Alpha phrase and he will know it and explain to you.
Manhattan Christian College Representative | Dalton miller
Dalton is the Director of Admissions and works closely with students on campus at Manhattan Christian College. Dalton is new to the Oasis Board, but we know he will do great. Dalton is also the Head Coach for Manhattan Christian College Women’s Basketball. Roll Thunder!
Treasurer | Jack Sweaney
Jack serves as a Business Pastor at University Christian Church in Manhattan, KS. Jack is a new member to the board and has taken over as treasurer. Jack enjoys spreadsheets and math - which is great! Jack is a fanatic of all things bacon, an extremely humble and hard working member of our board.
Dauson Whiteley | Secretary
Dauson is the Youth & Children’s Pastor at Abilene First Christian Church in Abilene, KS. Dauson is currently an MCC online student expanding his knowledge in ministry. Dauson has grown up attending the Oasis Conference and is excited for the experience students will have at Oasis. He brings his youth students and loves getting to be behind the scenes serving on the Oasis Board.
Thomas Lazarus | Board Member
Thomas is a Data Analyst. He serves in many capacities at University Christian Church in Manhattan, KS. Thomas is a cross country running enthusiast and enjoys quality time with a good board game and friends. Thomas is a new addition the Oasis Board and fully believes in its mission in fueling and sending students in Jesus name.
Jason Schmidt | Board Member
Jason is our veteran youth minister on the board. He has served in youth ministry for 27 years. Wow! He is currently the Senior Pastor and Youth Pastor at Oakley Christian Church in Oakley, KS. Jason has been involved with Oasis for several years and is a plethora of knowledge when in comes to youth ministry and all that it entails. Jason loves seeing the church and His people grow in their relationship Him.

Dak Shurts | Board Member
Dak is the Youth Pastor at Crestview Christian Church in Manhattan, KS. Dak is an alum of Manhattan Christian College and coached the reigning Flag Football Champions of The Oasis Student Conference. He loves spending time with his family and hunting. Dak is our resident youth games and tournament expert, he loves creating and executing youth group games.
Cassie Miller | Board Member
Cassie was in Student Ministry for almost 4 years. She served at Westside Family Church in Lenexa, KCK. Cassie serves on the board because teenagers aren’t the next generation, they are the NOW generation. She loves students and wants to see them live for Jesus & impact His Kingdom.

Ashley Bartlett | Board Member
Ashley is an Admissions Counselor at Manhattan Christian College and also works closely with students on campus. She is love serving Jesus by volunteering at her church. We are excited to have her on the team and can’t wait to see how God will use her and her passion for student ministry.
Naomi Nelson | Board Member
Naomi is our youngest board member, but has 1 Timothy 4:12 ready to go at a moments notice. We are thankful for everything she does for the Oasis Board and how she uses her gifts to glorify Jesus.
